Jon has spent his entire adult life in breaking news. Growing up around the CNN newsroom, he worked across nearly every facet of production — producing daily shows, writing for digital platforms, and creating content for CNN’s social media channels.

Throughout his career, he has led viral stories with top creators, personalities, and athletes, while also producing passion-driven pieces that highlight the urgency of ocean conservation.

After leaving CNN, he went to Southeast Asia to report on modern slavery at sea and the human trafficking of women and children, bringing attention to stories often overlooked by mainstream media.

Having grown up watching Whale Wars and following the work of Captain Paul Watson, joining Captain Paul Watson Foundation felt like a natural next chapter — and a dream role that unites his background in journalism with his lifelong passion for ocean advocacy.
