JAPANESE WHALING SHIP LEAVES PORT TO KILL 25 FIN WHALES

BREAKING: Japan has just launched its first of four planned commercial whale hunts this year. This morning, the Kangei Maru, Japan’s largest whaling vessel, left Shimonoseki Port with one horrific goal — to slaughter 25 fin whales.

“Japan is once again targeting endangered Fin whales in absolute contempt to the opinions and concerns of the majority of people on this planet who are sickend by the continued slaughter of these magnificent, intelligent, self aware sentient beings. Japanese whaling is a criminal enterprise in violation of international law and in contempt of the 2014 ruling of the International Court of Justice.” stated Captain Paul Watson.

Fin whales are majestic, sentient beings—the second-largest creatures on Earth—and are still listed as Vulnerable to extinction by the IUCN. Yet Japan continues to kill them for profit, ignoring international concern and conservation science.

The Paul Watson Foundation stands in defense of ocean life. We believe that whaling is a crime against nature—and we refuse to stay silent.
